Re: MSL6030 replaced FC card, HP-UX server could not see it

Hi kunalsahoo

Question for you about router mapping

I have configured "Mapping" in router E1200 via MAIN MENU - Mapping MAPPING MENU - FC Port 0. I configured below items as Auto Assigned. But I saw our another E1200 configured SAN100 as Indexed.

What's the different between "Auto Assigned" and "Indexed"?

Thanks.

Host Map
22298A (FC Port Name (Low)) Auto Assigned
C9410014 (FC Port Name (Low)) Auto Assigned
25DC50 (FC Port Name (Low)) Auto Assigned

Hi Gary,

Indexed map is the deafult map in a NSR card.
all the devices are member of that group.
however it is always recommended that you use separate mapping for separate connections.

I would suggest.
create a Mapping table(give own naming convention)
add the devices you want , NOTE: controller and Robot is mandatory to be added in each mapping along with the drive(s) and host details you want.

hope this will help you, please revert for any concerns.
