MSL6030 with NSR E1200 not connect my w2003 server

I've got a MSL6030 library connected to the SAN.

The SAN have two switch configured in cascade mode. All server can see the EVA, but someone don't see the library.

I have tryed to configure a manual host, but dowesn't work.

I don't have zone configured on Switch.

Any idea?

Re: MSL6030 with NSR E1200 not connect my w2003 server

try to run the new hardware discovery from computer management of win2003 servers.
take note of the wwn's of all your server's HBAs.
Enter the NSR web menu, choose "Mapping".
Enter username and password.
In the left part of the screen you will see the WWN of the servers: check if your servers are all present.

Are all present?

NO - run the new hardware discovery from computer management of win2003 servers and check again. Still not present? check your FC cables, switches ports, GBIC, zoning

YES - check if your WWN of servers are associated with a populated NSR map, tipically the "Indexed" one.

Re: MSL6030 with NSR E1200 not connect my w2003 server

Domenico,
not clear to me if you see the WWN's of ALL your servers in the NSR web menu.

If YES you should play with NSR maps

If NOT you should check somewere else. Assuming there's no zonin yet, ave you Tried to swap switch ports?

Let us know

Re: MSL6030 with NSR E1200 not connect my w2003 server

From Map menu, i can't see the all the servers, but the same server can see the EVA

On switch I haven't configured zoning

Re: MSL6030 with NSR E1200 not connect my w2003 server

Things to check...

1. Can ou see the NSR on the systems? If so, then you are likely mapped ok as well as zoned ok or not zoned at all. If not, then you probably need to make some mapping changes, assign maps, etc.

2. Can you confirm that there is no zoning in place? On the switch, via telnet, run zoneshow. Post the results or, in the web gui go to the admin page and save the admin report and attach it here to a post.

3. Were new hosts added to the SAN after some were already configured to use the Tape Library?

Potentially it sounds like a zoning issue, but since you claim there is no zoning, it's hard to justify.

Re: MSL6030 with NSR E1200 not connect my w2003 server

Correct Steven

It don't sound good

I confirm that I don't have zoning, and I don't have add server after library.

In this moment I can't run the command because i'm not in office in this moment.

tomorrow morning i'll post the result of command

Re: MSL6030 with NSR E1200 not connect my w2003 server

You should see at least the data like the ones extracted here below: (From the report of the NSR

FC port should be up and in Fabric mode

DIscovery on scsi bus should show the changer and both drives

Mapping informations should show the wwn of the mapped hosts, and the map you created

Also remenber that W2003 need a device configured as LUN 0 in order to scan the other luns.

FC PORT 0

Link Status UP/FABRIC
