Mechanism Positioning error

Dear Experts,

I’m trying to determine where a prudential hardware problem resides. From the error message provided I can’t work out whether there’s a problem with our c3600 or the tape library attached. This error message occurred when I: -

# mc –p /dev/rac/c3t0d0 -sS14 -dD1
ERROR: 0x4 Hardware Error : 0x1501 Mechanism Positioning error

Other commands like mc -p /dev/rac/c3t0d0 –r D and S worked fine.

Re: Mechanism Positioning error

Danny,

The positioning eye on the robot arm is either out of position (for example the robot moved to a diffrent location) or completely broken.

Based on the info provided, I quess the first ...

You need a mechanic to look at it.

Hope it helps,
