Modular Data Router
When I power up my modular data router it does not login to the internal 6 port fibre switch in my msa1000 storageworks unit. If i then pull the fibre cable out of the switch for 2-3 seconds and re-insert it I immediatly get a link light on the switch and the devices become available in windows 2000. All firmware is the latest on the MDR and Switches.

Re: Modular Data Router
You may need to upgrade the windows driver depending on what fibre card is installed in the system. This should be obtainable from the card manufacturers web site. Also there may be some registry changes required check the readme file that comes with the driver.

Re: Modular Data Router
This had nothing to do with Windows at this point. The MDR will not login to the switch at all whenever it boots up. It is as if the speed negotiation fails, then pulling out and reseating the cable somehow makes this work

Re: Modular Data Router
Try fixing the speed of the port on the switch - if it is the autonegotation, then that should fix it.
Good luck!
