NTFS and tape backup

Hello,
i'm newbee here.
I tried to save my NTFS partition with Ghost 2002 to another NTFS partition on the same computer. However as one has to restart in DOS (using a ghost-floppy) one is able to choose a NTSF SOURCE partition but not to chooce a NTSF DESTINATION partition. One has only the option to save an image to a FAT32 partition on a local computer or write to CD-ROM.
Now I will consider using tape and tape software ....
My questions ...
1) Does HP software restore images or just single files?
2) How do I restore a NTFS start-up partition, provided this partition has been damaged? Is there a kind of Ghost-like solution with a disk with some rudimentary DOS? (otherwise I will not be able to restore the system I suppose?)
3a) Does HP tape software allow one to find back a NTFS partition?
3b)And does it especially when recovering from any kind of DOS-rescue floppy disk?
Please, help me!
