OEM Quantum SDLT 600 FC Supported?

Hi there,

I have connected a SDLT600 to an FC board (A6795A). I have rebooted the server and rescanned the devices (ioscan тАУf), but I do not see the drive. Is this drive supported?

HP-UX 11.11 is supporting SDLT600 drives since june 2004. See this link:

Did you configure the stape driver?

I believe yes - Before this drive, a LTO1 was connected to the same interface and was working fine. There is still a SDLT320 connected trough the onboard SCSI connector that is working fine also... If there is an issue, how can I be sure that It comes from the drive and not the HBA or the server itself? - Thanks for your help -

Can you see the drive in ioscan? At least as unknown/unclaimed? perhaps you have to re-create the device files, the the ID is the same.

Have removed the special files (rmsf -a /dev/rmt/*), performed another ioscan then recreated the special files (insf -C tape) and I still do not see any reference to this drive - Any idea or is this drive dead? TIA
