Re: Omniback II with Autoloader
Before attempting to configure it in omniback, you need to set up a robotic arm device. The attached document will assist you. Once you have done this task, you can set up your auto loader from within the GUI.
To do this:
Devices & Media --> Edit -->Add --> Device --> Device Name, description, host name and device type=SCSI II Library, then add the robot device you would have created from the document. The rest is fairly straightfoward. If you have further questions, please post them.
Once the library has been set up, then you can configure drives applicable to your autoloader.

Re: Omniback II with Autoloader
Even though you have a device for the library does not mean this will drive it. Create the extra device from the document. This is the device you'll need when creating your SCSI Library in omniback.
Once you've created the device, without omniback try to move some tapes around using the 'mc' command.
From your 'ioscan' output hopefully this device will do it.
# mknod /dev/robot c 203 0x000510
Once you've done this, you can try to drive the robot using these commands. Make sure you have a tape loaded into slot 1.
# mc /dev/robot -r IDSM
# mc /dev/robot -sS1 -dD1
You can more examples in the 'mc' man page.
Regards
Michael
