Operate handle light is flashing?

Hi all,

Sorry for the newbie question but I have a DLT 40/80 drive and the tape in use light is constant but the operate handle light is flashing.
I am not sure what to about this, can anyone help?

If the tape is bad this can indicate the tape is bad... operate the handle and take the tape out... Use a brand new tape and see if you get the same issue.

If the "Operate Handle" LED remains flashing during the POST, close the door and wait for the POST to complete. At the end of the POST, the "Operate Handle" should remain on, otherwise...try L&TT and perform an Tape AcceptanceTest

What model of drive do you ahve? I can try and get you an LED Sequence document on this drive...

Thanks for your help on this. I managed to find the answer. Apparently it's to do with the new firmware the drive has. The Operate handle light will flash if the tape is not ejected after a minute or so when it has completed its task.
To fix I just push the unload button and then I can lift the handle to eject the tape.
