Problem installing SDLT320 on rp5470

Can anyone advice if SDLT320 can be supported by HP 9000 Rp5470 server. If it can how can I configure it??? Please advice?? Kindly reply to vinowg@yahoo.com.sg

Yes the drive is supported on the said hardware.

If proper scsi driver is installed in the kernel e.g. tape2 ( not sure) then it should work w/o any problems.

The correct driver would be stape. So make sure your stape patch is up to date enough such that it supports SDLT320 (PHKL_29247 or PHKL_29248).

Hi,
Thanks for the info, but even if I manage to get the SDLT320 working with claimed drivers, when I use a 40/80GB cartridge to test. When loading, the screen show Error , BF ......... Drive Stopped PW" what is the meaning of this. Is it the tape drive faulty or it cannot support the 40/80GB cartridge??

Please advice??

SDLT drives can read DLTtapeIV carts, but require SDLTtapeI carts for writting.
