Problem on MSL 6000

Hi All,

I have an issue on my MSL 6000 configuring with Netbackup 6.5.4.
While backing up policies, all 4 drives go to DOWN status, with error 803.

My NBU scan command gives this:

Device Name : "/dev/sctl/c14t0l0"
Passthru Name: "/dev/sctl/c14t0l0"
Volume Header: ""
Port: -1; Bus: -1; Target: -1; LUN: -1
Inquiry : "HP MSL6000 Series 0518"
Vendor ID : "HP "
Product ID : "MSL6000 Series "
Product Rev: "0518"
Serial Number: "USX645Z02J"
WWN : ""
WWN Id Type : 0
Device Identifier: "HP MSL6000 Series USX645Z02J"
Device Type : SDT_CHANGER
NetBackup Robot Type: 8
Removable : Yes
Device Supports: SCSI-2
Number of Drives : 4
Number of Slots : 58
Number of Media Access Ports: 2
Drive 1 Serial Number : "HU1064104W"
Drive 2 Serial Number : "HU10641W0Y"
Drive 3 Serial Number : "HU108064C7"
Drive 4 Serial Number : "HU10738EUA"
Flags : 0x0
Reason: 0x0

And my tpconfig _l command gives this:

Device Robot Drive Robot Drive Device
Type Num Index Type DrNum Status Comment Name Path
robot 0 - TLD - - - - /dev/sctl/c14t0l0
drive - 1 hcart3 1 UP - HP.hcart3.ULTRIUM3-SCSI.000 /dev/rmt/c14t0d1BESTnb
drive - 2 hcart3 2 UP - HP.hcart3.ULTRIUM3-SCSI.001 /dev/rmt/c14t0d2BESTnb
drive - 3 hcart3 3 UP - HP.hcart3.ULTRIUM3-SCSI.002 /dev/rmt/c18t0d0BESTnb

Is there anybody for help?? Firmware problem, drivers?

Re: Problem on MSL 6000

I see from the above that the firmware of the library is at 5.18 which needs to be upgraded to 5.20.
If you could attach the NSR report we could check if there is anything else that might need attention.
Also we would like to know :
The version of LTO driver -
If this happens exclusively with he backup of policies and all other jobs run fine -

The error message 803 in netbackup in dicate the following ::

Message: JM terminating
Explanation: A service request for an existing or a new job was received when the nbjm process was shutting down.

This is a part of the sacn command:

Vendor ID : "HP "
Product ID : "Ultrium 3-SCSI "

WWN Id Type : 0

Re: Problem on MSL 6000

Enter the IP Address of the NSR in a web browser and login to the NSR. On the main page to the left is an option " Report" select that and select "save as" and save the file as Report.mht.
