Problem with firmware update on MSL4048

Hello

When trying update firmware on MSL4048 (AH171A)with HP StorageWorks Library and Tape Tools from version 5.30 to 5.70 the update process failed with message:
SCSI WriteBuffer failure, this could be beacuse of cabling, do check device cabling

Do you mean Event 34 - incorrect firmware ?

Be sure not having activity on the library, stop backup services, reboot the library.
Did you try also with the 5.50 version? do you have the same error?
I also suggest you to run some test with ltt and eventualy attach here the support ticket

when using LTT, you have the possibility to "get files from web", here, just select what you want to download

There are many tool available in HP site where u can test your tape drive, tape media and physical connectivity... try download that and check.

I haven't upgraded to the latest firmware, but for previous versions I used the web GUI. No problem.

the version release is from 5.30 => 5.50 => 5.60 => 5.70. what i can suggest is for you to upgrade it to version 5.50 to ensure that the hardware connectivity and the L&TT tool is working perfectly OK.
