Problems connecting to a Fibre cards Serial port

I have been supplied a MSL6030 which has two LTO3 and a 2GB Fibre card. It all works fine but I want to change the IP address of the card. I have tried via MSL Utilities and hyperterminal but I can not connect with it. I know the cable is good because I can communicate through the serial port on the LVD controller. Any ideas? I have tried a spare F/C and have the same issue

Re: Problems connecting to a Fibre cards Serial port

Changing the IP of the library or the NSR?

Hope this helps!

Re: Problems connecting to a Fibre cards Serial port

Are you using these parameters on the serial port?

BAUD Rate Autobaud, 9600, 19200, 38400, 57600, 115200
Data Bits 8
Stop Bit 1
Parity None
Flow Control XON/XOFF

Also, is it a e1200-160 or a e1200-320? They have different serial port and use different cable.

Re: Problems connecting to a Fibre cards Serial port

Hi Andrew,

The serial cable required for the fibre card (NSR) is different to that used on the library controller card.

Check the user guide for the NSR it has the details of the pinout that you require...

Cheers,

Rob

Re: Problems connecting to a Fibre cards Serial port

It's still not clear to me - the IP of the library itself or the fibre card (NSR). Both have a serial port, but you need DIFFERENT cables!

The NSR is set to DHCP by default ("Router"), BTW.

Hope this helps!

Re: Problems connecting to a Fibre cards Serial port

Its an E1200-160
The serial cable should be 300576-001 (RJ11 to DB9)

Re: Problems connecting to a Fibre cards Serial port

OK, this is the NSR.

You need the other serial cable, delivered with your NSR.

Hope this helps!
