Quantum Powerstor L200 on HPUX 11i

Hi:

I need a backup solution for my J6000, but times are tough and mgt doesn't want to spend $$.

I was given an IBM 3502-108 DLT to see if it would work.

I connected it to the external SE/LVD SCSI port on the back of the J6000. In SAM I generated a device list and it showed up as a Quantum Powerstor L200, unclaimed, with a question mark (?) as the driver.

Will this device do backups on my system? What tape device driver do I need to configure into the kernel?

I have no doco, so I need any info I can get.

Tom ?:-/

Hi,
You can find documentation for this library at:
http://www.quantum.com/AM/support/atl/manuals/default.htm

You need the stape and the sctl driver configured in the kernel.

Re: Quantum Powerstor L200 on HPUX 11i

Tom,
I searched through IBM site and found ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/storage/devdrvr/HPUX/ . I saw library can work in hpux environment under TSM (Tivoli Storage Manager) and Veritas BackupExec:
http://www-3.ibm.com/software/sysmgmt/products/support/IBM_TSM_Supported_Devices_for_AIXHPSUNWIN.html .
In addition, You can check is these quantum DLT drives will be assigned stape driver. For robot you can try including autox0 or schgr drivers into kernel.
Good luck!
