Question about N7P36A HPE STOREEVER MSL LTO-7 ULTRIUM 15000 FC TAPE DRIVE and AU300A HP MSL8048 0-DR

Hi:

I am testing a combination of MSL8096 library (BTW: the part number that this library have is AU300A, that correspond to HP MSL8048 0-DR) with a LTO-7 drive (N7P36A).  The library detect the drive but i can see in the OCP that the drive reflect unsupported drive!

Some idea about this?

Regards.

Re: Question about N7P36A HPE STOREEVER MSL LTO-7 ULTRIUM 15000 FC TAPE DRIVE and AU300A HP MSL8048

The part number you list for the drive (N7P36A) looks correct for an MSL but the MSL 8048 never supported LTO-7 tape drives so it is likely that the firmware is detecting a drive that it doesn't know about.  The MSL 8048 was discontinued and replaced with the MSL 6480 before LTO-7 was released.

There were a number of changes in the library/drive interface for LTO-7 that have to be supported by the library firmware.
