RMI access msl 2024 g3
I connected my notebook to ethernet rear port on msl and is like port is turn off, I can't see link when I plugg the cord and I tried with differents cords (crossover and direct) and nothing....
On OCP I enabled IPv4 (192.168.1.10 mask 255.255.255.0), dhcp is disabled, also ipv6 is disabled.
I tried with another notebook and nothing.
Finally I rebooted the msl 2024 and also nothing.
What can be happening?
On rear, between serial port and usb port there is a led that is blinking all the time (each one or two seconds).
Thanks

Re: RMI access msl 2024 g3
Can be happening that msl 2024 hadn't been provided with the rear card (ethernet + serial + usb connectors), how can I test the serial and usb connector? or directly than ethernet port work fine?
Thanks

Re: RMI access msl 2024 g3
If all settings/cables/etc. are OK, the card is maybe bad ...
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: RMI access msl 2024 g3
Are you using a laptop that has a static IP address in the 192.168.x.x range? Most of the time laptops running Windows will be DHCP and default to a 169.254.x.x IP address. For that address to work you need to set the library address to a 169.254.x.x and the subnet to 255.255.0.0.
There are LED's on the Ethernet port and if you plug the library into a hub or switch with activity on it then you should see activity on the library. You might not see much just plugging a laptop in directly.

Re: RMI access msl 2024 g3
I don't know that L&TT would be able to detect anything interesting about the Ethernet port. It would report the IP address but you can see that on the front panel as well.
