RMI connection problem MSL2024 tape library
I have a MSL2024 LTO-3 tape library attached to an HP DL380 server running Windows Server 2003R2. The IP addresses of these devices are consecutive and they are on the same subnet. I can ping the tape library from the backup server in a command window. The Netbackup software communicates without problem with the MSL 2024. The problem arises when I attempt to use the RMI connection to configure the MSL2024 remotely. I open IE version 6.0.3790.1830 SP1, enter http://the IP address of the tape library and receive a server not found message. In the tools/Internet options portion of IE I permit bypassing our proxy server for the tape library IP address. I ask that someone please help me see the light on this issue. Thank you

Try a tape library firmware upgrade.

Re: RMI connection problem MSL2024 tape library
Check the Subnet Mask and Gateway Address settings on the library. An incorrectly configured network address could be the problem.
Is the server you are using able to access other http pages on the same subnet as the library?
