Recommended Rotation Type Schedule
Hi Everyone, I am currently testing the implementation of Data Protector 4.0 SP1 (build 46537) with the following hardware and OS configurations. We have 2 Autoloaders: * HP 1/8 AutoLoader LTO2 connected with SCSI to our Windows 2003 fileserver * HP 1/8 G2 Autoloader LTO3 connect with a HBA SAS SC44Ge to our Exchange 2007 server Our 3 server we want to backup are: * Windows 2003 Fileserver with 1TB of data * Exchange 2007 server with 800GB data * Oracle 10G Red Hat EL 5 server with 1 TB of data What would be the best rotation type if I want the Exchange 2007 and Oracle 10g server to backup to the HP 1/8 G2 Autoloader populated with 8 x 800GB LTO3 tapes? I currently are trying the Simple-4 rotation type. I have also configured a Simple-4 job for the WIndows 2003 fileserver to backup to the 8 x LTO2 tapes on the 1/8 Autoloader. Any advice on the configuration and rotational type would be appreciated. Thank you. Rudolf
