Remove password prompting at drive console

Hi,

We have a 1/8 G2 Autoloader 920. I can understand you need to enter a password to access the web interface but can I remove the need to enter a password when actually using the tape drive at the console?

When I need to move a tape from the mail slot to the 1st slot why do I need to enter a password or at least can I turn this option off. This drive is in a secure room and people enter tapes daily.

Hi Nathan, this is the way it was designed, there is no way to disable the password for move media operations from the OCP.
I'll see what else I can find.

Hi Wei,

I think I might have found a solution. Tape Tools 4.3 came with a firmware update 1.30 that added an option to the Configuration | System screen "Magazine access using front panel - Admin password required".

Hopefully this will do the trick.
