Retensioning tapes

Hi

Can someone give me a walkthrough on how to retension a tape? or just refer me to a webpage. Google is giving me anything usefull.

it would probably be useful to know what kind of tape drive you have and what, if any, backup software you use, operating system and so on.

Hi there

Sorry about the vague post. But isn't the retensioning method the same for all drives?

Our company is using an HP DAT 72 drive

retension is usually a software or operating system command like backup, erase, format etc. What software do you have?

We're using Windows 2000's back-up utility.

in the main backup screen. look under tools/media tools/retension
