SDLT density modification 110/220 --> 160/320

Hello,

i use an MSL 5052 and i have changed a week ago my two 110/220 tape drives in by two news 160/320 tape drives.
I didn't change my SDLT cartridge and i think that they have still 110/220 density with the news tapes.
can someone give me how i can modify the density to 160/320 GB, i am sure they can accept this size.
Do i need to erase (Long, short,etc) or format the medias.

Thanks for your answer

For what I remember, you cannot change the density of the tapes when used.
The only way should be a Degauss.
This operation could be performed by third party company you can found on internet

DEGAUSSING is a process in which an alternating magnetic field is forced on the magnetic tape. It causes the elementary magnets to shuffle around, so that all data is gone.

You have to write anything at BOT to change the format. You don't need to degauss or format the hole tape.
