SDLT220 eject fails
We are unable to eject the tape in our SDLT 220. We have tried it from the hardware and from software. The machine just makes spinning noises but does not eject the tape. Is there a way to force ejection?

Re: SDLT220 eject fails
1) Have you tried power-cycling the drive and then reattempting the eject?
2) Disconnect the SCSI cable prior to attempting item 1) to ensure that software is not preventing media removal
3) If that fails, can you collect the drive logs by running HP Library & Tape Tools (www.hp.com/support/tapetools)? It may provide some indication on why the tape does not eject.
4) You can look at the SDLT reference guide for instructions on manually removing the tape (not sure if this voids any warranty):
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/UCR/SupportManual/TPM_201412e3/TPM_201412e3.pdf
Look at section D, "Manually removing a cartridge"
