SOS msl 5030 Fault Code 3015 (soft): Drive time out

Hi,

I have MSL 5030 Tape Library Rack montable with 02 Ultrium LTO 230 drivers.

Since yesterday whole 02 drivers are not usable.

After each reboot, the tape take e long time checking drives and display these Error messages :

Fault Code 3015 (soft): drive time-out failure
Fault Code 3074 (soft): Drive eject failed

Fault Code 3015 (soft): drive time-out failure
Fault Code 3075 (soft): Drive eject failed

the ioscan -fnC tape and ioscan -fnC autoch show that the autoloader and both two drives are CLAIMED.
I've tried many things such as :
downgrading the Library Firmware to 5.07 version.
Deactivate drives and reseating them ...

I still recieve these error messages.
I don't know what to do.....
Any suggestion could help me!

Is the 5030 on a SAN or direct connected?

If it is on a SAN check to see if there are any Windows Servers on the SAN as well. If there are and they can see the 5030 then make sure that the Removable Storage service on the Windows server is disabled. It could be trying to access the tape library and locking out other systems from accessing it.
Once it's in production it's all bugs after that.

The 5030 is not in SAN, its Direct attached.

Any other ideas will be welcomed!

Hi,

Have you got tapes stuck in the drives ?

If not, a reboot should clear those errors. If it hasn't I think you're going to have to call out your hardware maintenance people...

yes, tapes stuck in the drives. and one drives has tape error message.
