Re: Serial ATA drive not responding

What system is this installed in? If it isn't showing in the bios of the controller however, drivers won't help. You may have a dead drive from the sounds of it.

Re: Serial ATA drive not responding

Its sinstalled in a Chanintech motherboard, and the system is running Windows xp ,769 RAM, such and such. I pluggted the cord into the SATA connector on the motherboard, tried both of them (theres two) And now Im stuck. It wont detect in System bios as an IDE drive. So yea this sucker costs 90 so im gonna be pissed if its dead.

Hello,

Is your SATA Drive is a seagate?

If this is the case you have to know that seagate SATA drive have separated power supply connector on them...

Re: Serial ATA drive not responding

Its a Hitachi drive. It came with a power conector that connects to the main power supply and uses a legacy pin connector to power the drive.
