Re: Serial connection to Tape Library with RJ12/DB9F cable
Hi,
to use the serial connection you need a special software tool - hyperterminal is not enough.
I would suggest to call HP support, they will give you a temp. master password.
For use with the serial line you'll need this (MSLUtil):
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?locale=en_USтМй=English+(US)&pnameOID=316051&prodSeriesId=316040&prodTypeId=12169&basePartNum=COL3991&locBasepartNum=co-13092-1&os=Microsoft+Windows+2000&tech=Utility
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Serial connection to Tape Library with RJ12/DB9F cable
reguardless of the flow control xon/xoff the hardware is likely standard PC style and will need CTS -RTS strapped
which is bottom middle two pins 7-8, you may need to strap 4-6 DTR-DSR but I didnt think so. Easy to join 7-8 just with a soldering iron.
