Share a Tape betwen 2 hpux

Hi,
I want to know how can I share a tape ( /dev/rmt/0m ).
I have a sistem with one tape, and i want another sistem to see this tape and write/read on it.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
It depends what you want to do. With some tools (e.g. fbackup and ftio) you can specify a device on a different host using the syntax :

Re: Share a Tape betwen 2 hpux

You can't do that; make_tape_recovery only works with local tape drives. You can setup the bost with the local tape drive as an Ignite Server and then do a make_net_recovery.

Depending upon your configuration, it is possible to physically share a common tape drive between two hosts.

Host A SCSI Controller ID 7 Termination Enabled ----- Tape Drive SCSI ID 0 (e.g) ----- Host B SCSI Controller ID 6 Termination Enabled.

If it ain't broke, I can fix that.
