Space available/used on DDS-4 tape

Hi,
I have a HP StorageWorks DAT 40 USB Tape Drive using DDS-4 tapes and Yosemite Tapeware Version 7.00 SP7D for home (not business) backups.
Have unsuccessfully searched thru' documentation and forums to find out how to find out how much space of a tape is used/available after running backup jobs.
Can someone please answer this (probably) straightforward and simple question?
