StorageWorks 232 SCSI Adapter Problems.
Hi people.
I have a new 232 drive wich came with his own cable, i have 2 scsi cards:
Adaptec 29160LP: (adaptec info)
Data Transfer Rate Up to 160 MB/sec
External Connectors
One 68-pin VHDCI for LVD SCSI devices
Internal Connectors One 68-pin for LVD SCSI
Bus Type 64-bit PCI (32-bit compatible)
Adaptec 26160
Data Transfer Rate 160 MB/sec
External Connectors
One 68-pin for LVD SCSI devices
Internal Connectors One 68-pin for LVD SCSI
One 68-pin for Ultra Wide SCSI
One 50-pin for Ultra SCSI
232 PDF Info Page 11 Support SCSI bus type:
SCSI Bus Type Bus Transfer Speed Supported
232
Ultra 160 LVD Up to 160 MB/s Yes recommended
Ultra 2 LVD Up to 80 MB/s Yes, one drive only per bus Yes
Ultra 320 LVD Up to 320 MB/s Yes,Recommended,
(but do not daisy-chain with Ultra 320 devices)
Here it say that my 26160 card is good for this tape drive. I was doing the testing on windows XP with the HP Tools program and it keep saying that:
1;cannot determine transer rate:n/a
2;that i need to use wide connector
This is the same with both cards, i use the cable LVD/SE-LVD/SE with the 29160 and the HBA-LVD/SE with the 29160LP.
I know a little about SCSI connectors, i already start reading about, iam wrong or i forget something.
I already put my 29160 card to is default values, the 232 tape has the id 3, HP Tools detect the tape with both cables.
Any help i will apreciate a lot, thanks all for your help.
