StorageWorks DAT 40 DDS4 USB External Tape Drive and MAC

Apple is no longer supporting the SCSI2 interface with the Adaptec PCI card. Apparently ATTO still supports their SCSI card, but for how long (?)
Will the HP - USB Storageworks DAT DDS Tape Drive work with the OSX 10.4 Tiger Macintosh system.
