StorageWorks DAT40e (SCSI) not working on Win 2003 64
I have downloaded the latest HP driver for the machine to no avail.
Has anyone got any ideas on how to get it working?

Re: StorageWorks DAT40e (SCSI) not working on Win 2003 64
I'm not sure that that is the answer as there are errors in the Application log at that time from VSS :-
Sqllib error: OLEDB Error encountered calling IDBInitialize::Initialize. hr = 0x80004005. SQLSTATE: 08001, Native Error: 17
Error state: 1, Severity: 16
Source: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server
Error message: [DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.

Re: StorageWorks DAT40e (SCSI) not working on Win 2003 64
Is the drive recognized on POST?
Is the drive recognized in device manager?
Is the drive recognized in LTT 3.5 SR3?
get LTT 3.5 SR3 here:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=406731&prodTypeId=12169&prodSeriesId=406729&swLang=8&taskId=135&swEnvOID=1060
Also, try a microsoft driver for the drive as you are using NTbackup. Makes sure you have a compatible scsi card and to corect driver isntalled for it.
Compatibility of HBA's:

Re: StorageWorks DAT40e (SCSI) not working on Win 2003 64
Jaclyn : The drivers you mentioned are the ones I downloaded and used. Thank you. I have also confirmed the HW compatablility.
I have also been in contact with MS who pointed me at the following KB.
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;833167
Unfortunatly that is for a fix for a pre SP1 OS where I have SP1 installed so it will not be of use.
I have now found a work around where I use the '/M copy' option instead of '/M Normal'
