Storagetek L20

Has anyone connected a storagetek L20 tape library with a seagate LTO drive to an HP server before? The I/O card is a 1GB fibre card

Andreas,
which HP server (product number, OS installed)? Which card (product/part number)?
In worst case you will be the first who connected :o)

The server is an rp8400 with an A5158A fibre card installed. The L20 has an internal fibre->SCSI router which allows the library to be connected via a fibre link. Note that the L20 contains a Seagate drive.

Re: Storagetek L20

Andreas,
I do not think HP will support this configuration, but it may work. Look at http://www.seagate.com/support/tape/drivers/index.html . It states "Seagate provides, as needed, drivers for native backup applications. Unless specified, 3rd party backup applications include appropriate drivers and do not require a Seagate driver". I did not find native seagate drivers for LTO for HPUX, so if you will find backup application which has them it will be great
Of course you may try to use standard hpux LTO tape drivers
