Re: Storageworks 1/8 G2 tape autoloader - Tape lock in
before you took out the tape reader, did you try to eject it from the backup software or from LTT? What kind of tape drive do you have installed?

Re: Storageworks 1/8 G2 tape autoloader - Tape lock in
I can't eject the tape. So I found the HP documentation to eject manually (after shutdown) the tape in the tape reader and all the tapes in the left and right magazine.
I restarted the autoloader but I always have the issue.
I asked to the autoloader to give me the state of each slot, and strange it sees a lot of slots are full and other empty. So all are empty.
I use the model tape HP C7973A 800GB RW Utrium LTO3.
I use this tape type since several months without problem.
My autoloader have more three years.

Is it still stuck? Did you get it out manually?

Re: Storageworks 1/8 G2 tape autoloader - Tape lock in
Yes I eject it manually as the HP procedure is showing.
I forgetted a information(sorry) but before the issue, I have this message on the autoloader : ROBOTIC ERROR 9BC4.
The HP hotine told me to eject all tape. As the warranty of my autoloader finished, I have to do this alone.

Re: Storageworks 1/8 G2 tape autoloader - Tape lock in
Hi,
The error reported above is pointing to an issue in the robot. Try to remove all the media in the Autoloader, check if ther are any brocken components in the autoloader. If you are not able to identify, only option is to contact HP support.
this is a physical damage reported and to make the unit work, it might need hardware replacement.
Regards
Raj
