Hi All,

Im new here, and hope somebody could have some answers for my question.

Im running Vmware ESXi 5.5 U2 with Tape Storever MSL2024 , HP H221 HBA contoller attached to and Proliant DL 380p GEN8 server. Then i have one backup VMserver that has an direct connection to the tape drive, and have attached "HP Tape" Scsi physical, and set Virtual device to Scsi 1:0 as best practice at Vmware. We using veeam backup software, and the issue is with the autoloader can't change tape during the tape backup. Veeam version we use is V. 8.0. Do any have any experience about the above? We have the latest firmware also on the Tape MSL2024. Can it be any config we might have missed on MSL2024?

Check the library operation mode, should be set to random. In sequential mode the robot is not visible and it works like an "endless" tape.

Hi Torsten,

Thanks for the advice, we have a answer from IIS Support. It's not an supported platform to run ESXi (VMware) VM host for tapestation MSL2024.

Here is the document that confirm VMware is not suported.
