SureStore DAT24
I'm having a problem with my DAT24. When I put a DDS-3 tape into my drive, and try to run a backup using Microsoft's builtin backup, on Windows 2000 server, I get the following message: there is no unused media with the selected type. Add unused media or click cancel to select another type. Can anyone tell me why I'm getting this? It's a brand new tape in the drive!

Re: SureStore DAT24
Hi David,
I would start by downloading the HP Library and Tape Tools utility, which will give you some valuable information about the status of the DAT24. Here's the download page:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?locale=en_US&prodNum=C1556AтМй=English+%28American%29&basePartNum=co529&locBasepartNum=co-1049-1-2-1&prodName=HP+Library+and+Tape+Tools&os=Microsoft+Windows+2000&tech=Diagnostic
Good luck!
Kathy

Re: SureStore DAT24
David, did you resolve your problem with your DAT24 tape backup unit? I am receiving the same error you did. I downloaded the utility package which gave me no help.
Thanks
