SureStore DAT8e

Netware5, BacupExec v.8, client on NT4, DDS2-8 GB (w/ h/w compression).
How do I know if a drive uses hardware compression? How do I set it? It does not want to go beyond 5.2 Gbits or 4945 GB. It askes for second tape.
Am I hitting the limits?

Regards

Re: SureStore DAT8e

hi
If you can fill 5.3 gb on the tape , than compression is on, In fact the dat8 can store 4 gb data in the tape ,(8 gb is assumed with compression ratio 2:1)
You have also to know that not all files can be compressed, nowadays, lots of files are binary or always compressed, usualy text files have a hight value of compression ration.
