SureStore E Library - Hard Error - A command to the transport controller timed out

Hi All

The Library gives me the following error: "Failed to perform an inventory check. A command to the transport controller timed out". What can be the cause of this? I've recalibrated the library, but now it wants a firmware upgrade? Is this normal?
If so what is the most current update?

SureStore E Library is like a family name.

What exact model do you have?

I assume it is like an 2/20, 4/40 or something.

Consider a bad picker (robotic) no longer able to move. The latest firmware was 1720.

Did you exchange parts?

No, as far as I know, no physical upgragrades were done on that library. It is a 2/20 lib. Secondly, when i do a Inventory check it gives me the following: "Failed inventory check at slot 20" Code 76, Qualifier 86 Sequence 53,53,53,106, 101,51.

Will the firmware upgrade help this cause?

What version are you running?

I would do this:

power cycle the lib.
Watch it! Does the picker move around?

i power cycled the lib and the robotic moved and scanned all slots successfully.

Firmware Rev:
Library: 1.30.0
Tape drives: 1:59

i will update the firmware and check if this will solve my problem.

This will be helpful, I'm sure.

The picker gets the power from the rails.

The new firmware will help to keep the rails clean (by sweeping). Also the error handling may be improved.

So do the update.
The recommended tool is LTT - do you know it already?
