Our tape library is showing the message "Lib. Partly Available" and the status light is orange instead of green. We have gotten this message in the past if one of the tapes was in the mail slot, but all of the tapes are in the normal slots. Can anybody tell me why we have this error?
Thanks

Solution
hy
different reason can put the library in partly avail. status: see below:
when a SureStore 2/20, 4/40 or 6/60 is in partial availability mode, the front panel LEDs turn amber and the home screen says partial availability, but it doesn't give the reason for being in partial availability.
Solution:
Partial availability mode serves only as a warning to the user that the library is not configured optimally.? It does not affect the operation of the unit.
To determine why a SureStore 2/20, 4/40 or 6/60 is in partial availability mode, do the following: 1. From the home screen, select the ?Main? button.
2.The main menu screen will pop up.? Select 1 ? ?Information?.
3.The information (1/x) screen will pop up.? Select 1 ? ?Library Information?.
4. The library information (1/x) screen will pop up.? Select 1 ? ?Library Status?.
5.The partly available (1/x) screen will pop up and list the reason or reasons why the library is partially available.
For optimal performance, steps should be taken to rectify the reasons for being in partial availability mode.

Re: SureStore E Tape Library: Lib. Partly Available
A shortcut to figure out why a library is reporting partial availability is to press the center button from the main display. It looks like a funny half block, I think it is supposed to be a half full glass.
