Hi,
I need to install 2nd Ultrium Tape drive in 5300 Tape Array and it will be connected in the same host( rp2400 server). This server will contain these 2 Ultrium tape drive. But the shortage of LVD SCSI port of this server, I need to daisy chain these 2 Ultrium Tape drive between Bay 2 and Bay 4. For daisy-chain I will use C2978B cable.
I need instructions: How can I do this? What will be the SCSI id of these SCSI Bay( 2&4)? HOw do I connect this cable on Bay 2 & 4?
For your information, I have already 1 Ultrium Tape drive istalled and on-line in bay 4. New Ultrium drive will be in Bay 2.
Thanks in advance.
Richard

Solution
Richard,
the 5300 has switches for the SCSI ID, I believe by default the settings match the Bay#
you see them at the rear, where you connect the cable.
So your current Ultrium should have target # 2 in ioscan
However, you may want to double-check that it is an officially supported solution to have the two Ultiums daisy-chained. This might depend on the HBA you have.

Bernhard
