I keep getting an error that the tape drive is dirty. Could someone tell me how to clean the drive, is there a special cleaning tape I can purchase? The drive uses DDS3 DAT tapes. I'm really new at this and all help would be greatly appreciated.

yes there is a cleaning catridge, it come with the dlt, check in your box, otherwhise buy a new one from you HP rapresentative.

You can pick up a DDS cleaning tape from any computer store. Just stick it in. It will automatically load, clean the drive and rewind itself. It does need to be replaced every so often. The price should be around $13 US and look exactly like one of your regular tapes.
