TL892DLX

I have backed up multiple sets of data onto one tape. But when I tried to restore a particular set of data, the catalog couldn???t be read from the system. Either showed only first set of data or not at all. I kept getting the message: Please insert tape # 2???, something like that. I really need help for this problem. What can I do to retrieve all of data from the tape?

Thank you,

Yan

And the application that wrote the data is?

Re: TL892DLX

The data were text files. They were bcped(bulk copy) out from Sybase database into NT file system.

It seems like the tape drive only read partial data on tape and tells me to insert the same tape into the tapedrive.

Thank you,

Re: TL892DLX

You probably need to be talking to Sybase support rather than tape drive support first. Sybase should have some means of validating the data on the tape if it was writing to the tape drive using their own binary. Good luck.
