Tape Stuck

Hi,
I have two 35/70 DLT's. All of a sudden, I have a problem with both of them. One won't release the cleaning tape, and the other won't grab when I put a tape in. Is there a way to manually release a tape? On both of them, the "tape in use button keeps flashing". Any suggestions would be helpful.

Well there is a way to get the tape out of the dlt, you'll have to remove the dlt from the server/array, looking at it from the front right hand sidt there is a small solinoid it's connected to a small arm, the arm is the release mechanism, jiggle that, proffesionally, and the tape will eject. as for the other DLT, remove the tape and check that the leader tape is still connected, if it has dropped if the leader has dropped then you'll need to speak to your hardware support or someone who is an ACT, ASE so as not to void the warranty. the best thing to do is to download the user guide from the support site and judge for yourself.
