Tape Won't Eject

I am using a 20/40 dat drive. There is a tape in the drive but it is not registering in the software and it will not eject. I was told to re-boot the server and try to eject while it was re-booting but that didn't work either. Is there anyway to get the tape out?

You can try holding the eject button down for 30 seconds. It usually forces the mechanism to reset itself.
