Tape drive in unclaimed status

Hi Experts,

Server OS : B.11.23 U
Server Model : ia64 hp server rx6600
I am having problem as below
# ioscan -fnC tape
Class I H/W Path Driver S/W State H/W Type Description
=====================================================================
tape 0 0/1/2/0.0.0 stape UNCLAIMED UNKNOWN HP C7438A

Does this hardware support this tape drive ?
If yes where can i get drivers for this drive ?
Drive SCSI connection are good.

Please help

Looks like a SCSI DAT drive.

You must have the "stape" configured into the kernel. Use SAM to do this. After a reboot the drive should be CLAIMED.

I have got the solution for my problem below are the comments from HP Competency Center

"The only Ultra320 SCSI card supported by HP-UX on rx6600 is the A7173A - PCI-X 2-channel Ultra320 SCSI

403051-001 is a single channel Ultra320 that is compatible with ProLiant ML & DL servers. It will not have been qualified to operate in an rx6600, and there is no support for this card in an rx6600. "
