Tape not recognized
I just purchased 10 new tapes and the DAT drive wouldn't recognize half of them (green blinking light followed by yellow blinking light and no tape in tape drive message from nt backup software). I was able to use half of the tapes and the old ones for a couple of weeks. Now it won't recognize any tapes. I've cleaned the heads repeatedly to no avail. The blinking yellow light will disappear after cleaning, but returns when I put a tape in the drive. I tried using Compaq Diagnostic, but it wouldn't complete the test on the tape drive (I'm assuming because it doesn't recognize a tape in the drive after I'm prompted to put one in).

Re: Tape not recognized
If the drive fails disagnostics (assuming you used prompted diagnostics, read write test) then it has probably failed. Contact your local serice center, or call 1-800-od-compaq (if your'e in North America) for service.
