Tapes become stuck in autoloader

I have owned a Compaq 20/40 GB DAT Autoloader, Model SDT-10000 for approx. 1 year. I am currently on my third tape drive. They have had a chronic problem with the autoloader not correctly handling the tape and causing the drive to hang. After that you cannot get the tape out without taking the drive apart. I have watched field service do it several times. Compaq has provided 3 tape drives but I am sick of this problem. IS ANYONE ELSE HAVING A SIMILAR OR THE SAME PROBLEM. Please send an email reply with your tape drive model. I am sure I am not alone.
