Tru64 5.1b
We have an issue with all SDLT Tapes V82 (110/220 and 160/320) and on different Alphas (ES45,ES47,ES40). Tru64 5.1b with latest patches!
When the Tape is write protected, the first command must be killed.
I´ve tried it with the following commands:
mt, file, vrestore.
After the first command is killed (strg C),
the next time when the command is issued it works fine.
When the tape is ejected and inserted again,
you have to kill the frist command again.
I´ve tried it with the dlt 35/70 - no problem.
The problem is only seen with write protected cartridges!
Have anyone out there seen this issue?
Can anyone help me with this issue?
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
Gerhar

Re: Tru64 5.1b
This looks like an driver issue. Do you get any error messages (scsi sense information) after the first command without killing it - please keep in mind that scsi tape timeouts might be long.
