Ultrium 960 Firmware update from G64D to G66D

Hi Guys,

I have a Ultrium 3-SCSI 960 Tape Drive with firmware D64G and would like to make an update.
As this is a closed linux system (SLES 9), i have no possibility for doing a direct internet update. Thus, i downloaded the file LTT_Ultrium_3-SCSI_G66D_STANDALONE.frm and placed it at /opt/ltt/firmware and changed the access permissions to 777. Nevertheless, the firmware file was not found with the ltt tool (V4.1.2).

Could you please help me?

Thank you for reading and answering.

Can you please send the eventlog with I/O history enabled to ltt.team@hp.com.

In order to enable I/O history, under /opt/ltt, please execute the below command
./hp_ltt -f settings iohistory=enable

After this, run ltt by ./hp_ltt and send us the event log

Btw: In looking at the logfile, i noticed that there are some problems with some Perl log file. Thus, you will find the perl version hereunder:
This is perl, v5.8.8 built for x86_64-linux-thread-multi.
As i could not find the steps which have been done by me to reach the firmware update, you will find hereunder the steps, i have done.

./hp_ltt
/tmp/ltt_tool

Please attach the log file in .ltt format. It will be saved as Eventlog.ltt

Re: Ultrium 960 Firmware update from G64D to G66D

Hi Support Team,

there is no Eventlog.ltt on the whole system.
I did a find / -name Eventlog.ltt and the result was absolutely nothing.

Re: Ultrium 960 Firmware update from G64D to G66D

Sorry. I already included it into the last .tar.gz file. Thus, i could not find it on the server. Also, the forum software seems to change the filename from xxxx.tar.gz to NNNN.gz.
Please find the plain Eventlog.ltt attachted

You could pull the tape drive and controller. Install in a Windows workstation and update the firmware.

You maybe have another LTT session running, since you got these "file exists" and "cannot delete" messages. Please close them all and try again.

No need to use windows ;-)

The linux version should have the same functionality.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
