Ultrium firmware

I'm trying to update the firmware in my HP Surestore Ultrium 230 (internal) drive. It shows current firmware revision e22d, oem variant 9, serial number IE72D04409. When I try to upgrade the firmware to E32D/OEM9, it gives me an invalid personality error. Am I just using the wrong firmware file?

Re: Ultrium firmware

Ted:

Give this bios a try:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/information_storage/software/ltt/firmware/LTT_Ultrium_1-SCSI_N27D_OEM9.frm
It might be the correct personality.
Enjoy!

Re: Ultrium firmware

John--

The bios that you had gave me a wrong prefix error.

Gurunath--

The links didn't really help. I already had the newest ltt and it specifically had me download the E32D/OEM9 firmware. Just to test, I downloaded every firmware that is related to the Ultrium 1 drive. Most of them show the wrong personality, and the Nxx ones show wrong prefix. The ltt shows that the E32D/OEM9 firmware is acceptable, but as soon as I actually try to run the firmware upgrade, it says it is likely to fail because it's a different personality, and then it does in fact fail.

Re: Ultrium firmware

I would say it is not under warranty at this point--several years old.
