Urgent question about my DAT72

Sorry folks, but this is seriously bugging me -can some kind person please help???
My DAT 72 is clearly labelled as a product Q1522A. Yet when I run the Tapetools software it decides it's a C7438A!! The firmaware suggests it's the latter, yet although V601 is loaded some of the tests are saying that the firmware needs updated.

Have you had the unit from new or is it just possible that at some point the firmware has been flashed using the HP overide password to ignore the hardware personality code?
Thereby generating conflicting messages depending upon whether the personality or firmware version is referenced during testing perhaps?
