Use Colorado 8GB with Windows XP?

I've been using a Colorado 8GB external Travan drive on an HP Pavilion Computer with Windows 98. Can the drive be used with Windows XP? Where can I get the driver? I haven't been able to find, on the HP Web Site, any indication there is a driver to permit using the tape drive with Windows XP. Is that correct?

Thanks

Re: Use Colorado 8GB with Windows XP?

Hi John,

Using an external Colorado tape drive in XP is a bit of a problem because XP does not support it and the drive was discontinued before XP was introduced. We have had a little success by doing the following.

This link takes you to the software you will need:\

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?locale=en_US&pnameOID=18516&taskId=135&prodTypeId=12169&prodSeriesId=63935&submit.y=11&submit.x=8〈=en&cc=us&swEnvOID=209

note that the software version is Colorado Backup 9.1

And this link takes you to a document that tells you how to do it.
