Using the DLT2000?????
I bought a 2000. Im using Veritas and using, used tapes. When I put a tape in all three lights eventiually come on.

These are nearly as old as me....
If your using HP-UX, you can check as to whether the hardware is recognised by the system:
# ioscan -fn
If it is, try first some generic types of backups like tar to make sure the drive is working. Are you using the correct type of tape?

What tapes are you using? Newer DLT4 tapes (black) are not compatible to a DLT2000. You must use a DLT3 tape, grey in colour.
